“You can’t handle the truth!”
– Colonel Nathan Jessup, A Few Good Men
My terrible secret
Last year I lost a lot of my passion for blogging.
It isn’t a secret and I’ve mentioned this on several occasions.
There comes a point when you don’t really need to read most blogs for motivation or information.
When you’ve been to the gym for the past 365 days or worked towards your goals every evening, you don’t need the same amount of inspiration that someone new might require.
For a long time I was simply tired of making new posts. There are only so many ways you can get people fired up and it felt like I was recycling material.
Now I’ve set a goal to increase readership and improve on the site, but I still don’t have the same level of passion that I used to.
That fire died out over time.
Why I keep blogging
I don’t really need this site anymore.
There’s nothing I have to prove to the world.
So why am I still working on it?
For you.
At one time blogs and books were a huge source of my motivation.
They expanded my world view and made realize how much stuff I needed to accomplish.
If it wasn’t for the Internet I would have never discovered things like juicing vegetables, breathing exercises, or entrepreneurship.
Blogs helped me to find all kinds of crazy information that I never would have known about otherwise.
Since they improved my life they can change other lives too.
I write for the guy who’s in some lousy situation that seems inescapable.
For the man who wants to escape mediocrity.
For those just starting out with no one to turn to.
I write for them.
Even though I no longer have a personal conflict or struggle that I can draw from, I know what its like to suffer and be stressed.
The challenges that others face give me the tools to push on.
As long as there are men in need of assistance I’ll be here writing.
