“I bet a lot of people kill themselves right before Christmas. Saves them a trip to the store.”
– Me
[Yesterday was spent on the road, so I’m only at 31 points in my current challenge.]
I know it’s cool to hate on Christmas time, but I actually enjoy the season. It’s crisp outside, there’s a light dusting of snow, and I get to wear my bomber jacket everywhere I go. What’s not to like. Additionally, people are buying things in droves, so my article and review writing businesses are swamped with orders.
During the week I get to hang out in my office and bask in all the sunlight that pours through my windows. Over the weekend I get spend my time outside selling Christmas trees to happy families. Roughly one out of every three dads make the same Christmas Vacation reference when I tie a tree on top of their vehicle. It’s a good time.
Finals week is approaching, which means that everyone is staying in to study. This gives me a great excuse to stay in this weekend and work on some music production. When it’s five degrees outside I’d rather be behind a keyboard making goofy beats, than freezing to death in line for a club.
Later in the month I’m excited for the annual game of drunk Pictionary, which has become something of a tradition amongst my friends. I’ve spent most of my year traveling and actually haven’t been around my hometown more than a dozen times in the past six months. As much as I like my Cali friends it will be nice to spend some time with the people I grew up around.
The year’s winding down and I’m happy as a clam.
