“After a certain point, money is meaningless. It ceases to be the goal. The game is what counts.”
– Aristotle Onassis
When I conceived this challenge I was running a quite popular Fiverr gig. For a measly five dollars I was writing three 150 word product reviews. The service was a steal and customers were flowing in. Unfortunately, the work was time consuming. I was getting very little sleep and sitting at my desk for hours on end. It was also tedious, penning mundane reviews gets old fast. Despite my grips, I enjoyed the fact that my hustle was leading me away from the 9 to 5 slog.
My goal for this month was to develop a way in which I could free up my time. I was one day into the challenge when something occurred. Early yesterday evening Amazon suspended* my accounts from posting reviews.
I allowed myself a few hours to be stressed out. Then I went back to the drawing board. I was lucky enough have the opportunity to start over, to make my business more time efficient from the get go. At the time of writing my new venture has been going for less than an hour, making it’s success impossible to gauge.
For the rest of the month, I’m going to work on molding this new service into something that requires as little input as possible. I’m also going to share, and experiment with, various ways to save both money and time.
I look forward to seeing how this month develops…
* Or so I believe, I haven’t gotten an official response from them yet.
