“Mail your packages early so the post office can lose them in time for Christmas.”
– Jonny Carson
Over the past two weeks I’ve been flooded with messages. And, for the first time in site history, they aren’t all hate mail. Anyway, I’m going to share some of the most common questions that people have been asking me. Lastly, since I didn’t ask permission, all inquirers will be listed as anonymous and their questions will be slightly altered as to avoid legal issues.
Here we go:
“How can I make money online?”
I’ve gotten several dozen questions that essentially boil down to this. My best suggestion, find something you think might make you money and try it. When it doesn’t work out, try a new venture.
I’ve been trying to support myself of the Web since fall of last year. Now I’m just starting to do it. From opening a soap company, to making unsuccessful affiliate blogs, to using a link exchange program that gave me viruses; I’ve done it all. Each time I learned a little more, and each time I did a little better. Stick with it and you’ll eventually make it.
“How can I make fast money?”
By not trying to get rich off the Internet. There are a lot of easy side jobs that pay out quick, however they all require physical elements. In college I once bought a bunch of used math text books and went around selling them. I put some on eBay, and others I unloaded in real life.
From what amounted to a weekend’s worth of work, I made enough to pay for a month’s worth of gasoline.
The first semester of school is winding down right now, it wouldn’t be terribly difficult to post a Craigslist ad, buy some books, and then sell them off later.
“Are you rich?”
This question actually made me laugh. At the moment I’m living at home with my parents, something I’ve mentioned on here before. It’s a little embarrassing, but it’s helped me save money and gives me a lot of motivation to keep working. Last month was the first time that my ventures started to pay off big, and I only recently resigned from my job. To answer your question, no. However, I am starting to see my business grow and I plan on being out on my own early next year.
