“Drive sports cars, date movie stars, buy things that are not for sale… who knows, Master Wayne? You start pretending to have fun, you might even have a little by accident.”
– Alfred Pennyworth
The day I became successful with women was the day I stopped talking to them about anything meaningful. Instead of trying to converse about books or philosophy, I’d just throw out a bunch of witty statements. After knowing the girl for some time, I’d then reveal my reading habits or intellectual interests. I went from being called a nerd to being cool.
When you’re on your grind you have a very hard time relating to people. Internet forums are loaded with threads about guys who started doing something cool only to catch flack from their family and friends. If you were some 500 pound super virgin who worked at Arby’s, people wouldn’t say anything. If worked out, strive for financial independence, and actively improve your skill with women; everybody is going to comment.
The common advice to avoid haters is to build a new crew and disown your family, but I have a slightly different approach: keep your goals private. Aside from a select few, most people have no idea where I go on weekends, how I spend my free time, or what I want out of life.
Hustle hard, hit the gym, read good books, develop a skill, lift big, and go on adventures. You don’t need to tell the world how awesome you are. When the time comes, they’ll see it.
