What are some items that provide an excellent return on investment? Products you’ll use for years on end, with continual results? I came up with a list of seven.
These are some of the best investments (under $200), I’ve ever made. They run the gambit, from improving your health to boosting your income and improving your knowledge.
Let’s start with one of the most important items on this list.
1. Gamma Ray Anti UV Glare Computer Glasses
Blindness will be the 21st century’s biggest epidemic. People shove screens in their face for 12 hours a day, and naively dismiss the consequences.
Protect yourself with a pair of Gamma Ray Anti UV Glare Computer Glasses. These filter out the harmful glare of your computer screen, saving your eyes from needless damage.
2. Weider Power Tower
This is one of the best pieces of workout equipment you can possibly own. Use it for dips, pull-ups, leg raises, and other body weight exercises.
And, if you want a very easy fitness “hack,” set it up in your office or bedroom. Then do a couple dips or pull-ups every time you walk by it. You’ll work your muscles and get a little extra pump to keep you energized.
3. Niche Sites
(Two PayPal Payments From August)
Niche sites are easily the best return on investment ever. $25 a year for a HostGator domain name, an hour or two a week of writing, and then a nice steady stream of passive income for life.
You don’t even do any “personal branding” or make products. Barring a couple eBooks, all my sites just make money through affiliate links. Nothing else.
And finally, here’s the crazy part.
Done right, a decent niche site pays like owning rental property.
In that picture above, the big payment is like you’re renting out an apartment. And the $70 a month is like holding $28,000 in dividend paying stocks.
Big returns, $25 investment.
4. The Books Web Copy That Sells, Predictably Irrational, And Zig Ziglar’s Selling 101
These three books teach you everything you need to know about sales. Read them cover-to-cover, take notes, implement what you’ve learned, and watch your earnings grow.
5. The Breville Compact Juice Extractor
Nothing beats starting your day with a big glass of carrot juice.
Drink this stuff daily and you’ll soon develop a nice, orange tan from all the extra carotene.
It’s also great for your health and much better than soda.
6. Google Keep And Duolingo
These two apps cost absolutely nothing, yet their returns are astronomical.
Duolingo is a free language app, and a great way to master the fundamentals of another tongue.
For 5 – 10 minutes a day, you’re able to improve at any number of languages.
Personally, I’ve done Spanish, French, Chinese, and Vietnamese every day for about two years.
While I’m no native speaker, Duolingo definitely helps.
Google Keep is a little notepad app. Honestly, it doesn’t seem super impressive, but I use it to write articles (like this one) while I’m at the grocery store or waiting to catch a train.
Thanks to the power of compounding, my little writing experiment earned an extra $936 last week.
All money I would have missed out on if I weren’t using this app during down time.
7. Basic Cooking Utensils
(First, And Last, Time I Ate An “Artisanal Cheeseburger.” $15 For This, No Way!)
Going to restaurants takes a toll on your health. You’ll never get enough nutrition, and most dishes (to cut corners) are made cheaply.
The only time I ever lost my six-pack was when I ate out constantly. The reason is simple. Restaurant food is low in protein and high in carbs. It’s the easiest way for a venue to inflate their profit margins ($0.10 worth of pasta and sauce for $17), and the fastest way to wreck your body.
Cooking your own meals solves this problem. And is the best way to stay fit.
My daily lunch now consists of two steaks, sausage, cheese, crackers, fruits, and some carrots. It’s the only meal I eat most days and I’ve never felt better.
Invest $40 into a frying pan.
Cooking is fun, good for you, and a fantastic way to improve your health.
